JOHN WARD
With 19 years of experience in video and audio production, John has an extensive background as an Editor and Camera Operator. He began his career in 1993 after graduating from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Video and Audio Production. After college, he went to work at Lyon Video, the production company where he had interned for 2 years. He became their first Avid non-linear Editor on staff.
From 1995-2001, besides his full time work on the Avid Media Composer, John worked as Director, Tape Operator, Slow-Mo Operator and Camera Operator for Live Music and Sporting Events. At Polaris Amphitheater in Columbus, he worked for many headlining music acts. (Ask him sometime to tell you some fun stories about Ozzy Osbourne and Steven Tyler.) The sports teams he worked with include The Ohio State University Men’s & Women’s Basketball, University of Pittsburgh Panthers Football and Columbus Blue Jackets Hockey.
In the edit suite, John often extended his role to include Creative Director, Writer and Producer. He has created over 20 different permanent video exhibits for display at Columbus’ Center of Science and Industry Museum.
Some notable clients that John has collaborated with as Creative Director and Editor include Nationwide Insurance, Huntington Bank, Center for Disease Control, Kroger Food and Drug, The Limited, Structure and Columbus’ Ricart Ford Dealership. He was also Producer and Editor for scores of hour-long infomercials for ThermalGuard / Appleby Replacement Windows and Craft-Built Patio Rooms.
LISA WARD
Lisa has been working in the video and film business for 18 years which has allowed her to gain experience in many areas of production. Prior to Trailhead Video, the majority of her freelance work was as a Producer, Production Coordinator, Location Manager and Teleprompter Operator. Since then she has expanded her skills to include Editor and Camera Operator. She graduated from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications in 1994 and went to work for SOS Productions. As an Assistant Production Coordinator and Assistant Operations Manager she worked on projects for Safe Auto Insurance, The Limited, Victoria’s Secret, Value City Furniture, Structure and numerous Political Campaigns.
After a few years of learning the ropes, she left SOS to begin a full time Freelance career working on high-end television commercial productions and corporate videos. As a freelancer she Produced television commercials for The James Cancer Hospital, Dominion Homes and Kroger Food & Drug.
She has worked as Production Coordinator and Location Manager on commercials and corporate videos for Libbey Glass, Johnson & Johnson, University of Louisville Healthcare, Ohio Lottery, Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Rally’s Hamburgers, Roadway Package Systems, Donatos Pizza, Armed Forces Radio and Television Network, Abbott Laboratories, Acura and Sprint. She was a Teleprompter Operator for two season’s of “Keep Cooking” a cooking show broadcast in Columbus, Ohio and worked as a Field Producer for Ohio Medical Education Network.
